Biography: Ismail Adawe is an Assistant Director at OISS. He has been in the field of International Education for more than a decade. Ismail’s responsibilities at OISS include overseeing the F-visa team, interpreting regulations, university compliance with U.S. Department of Homeland Security regulations. Ismail also serves as the Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) for MSU.

Ismail earned his undergraduate degree in International Business and Management. He earned a Master of Science in International Administration from Central Michigan University. Ismail joined MSU in 2008. Prior to joining OISS, Ismail worked with the International Neurologic and Psychiatric Epidemiology Program (INPEP) and the Institute of International Health (IIH) at Michigan State University.

Ismail lived and studied in several African and Middle Eastern countries. He worked in Sub-Saharan Africa. He is passionate about assisting international students and the internalization of MSU. Ismail enjoys learning about the world not only by traveling but by getting to know the unique and wonderful international students here at Michigan State University.

Biography: Lynn Aguado (she/her/hers) coordinates the administrative process for MSU Affiliated Partner programs and advises students wishing to participate in those programs. She is also the liaison with the Office of Financial Aid and works on outreach related to financing education abroad. Lynn received a BA in Spanish Language and Literature from the University of Michigan, during which time she participated in an academic year abroad program at the Universidad de Sevilla in Seville, Spain. She also has a master’s degree in Higher, Adult and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University. Prior to coming to MSU, Lynn worked with education abroad programs at the University of Michigan and the University of Missouri-Columbia. She loves studying and speaking other languages (including Spanish, French and Italian), quilting, reading, singing in the MSU Choral Union, and attending musical performances - especially Broadway musicals. Lynn’s favorite concerts and shows are the ones where her son is performing with his upright or electric bass.

Biography: Titus Awokuse is the associate dean for research and strategic partnerships at MSU’s International Studies and Programs. He previously served (from 2015-2021) as chairperson in MSU's Department of Agricultural, Food and Resource Economics. Prior to joining MSU, he was chairperson and professor in the Department of Applied Economics and Statistics at the University of Delaware. His research interests and activities examine how international trade and food market liberalization policies enhance economic growth, improve food supply chains, and promote food security in developing countries. He has published his scholarly research papers in leading professional journals and his works have been cited in the popular press, including the Canadian Journal of Economics, Economic Letters, European Review of Agricultural Economics, Global Food Security, Journal of Comparative Economics, and World Development, the Economist, LA Times.

He is an internationally respected scholar who has consulted for national governments, international development agencies, non-governmental organizations, and private businesses. Awokuse also made notable contributions to the agricultural and applied economics profession through his leadership roles and service on various committees, advisory boards, and professional associations. He currently serves as an elected member of the Agricultural and Applied Economic Association (AAEA) and is on the Executive Board of the International Agricultural Trade Research Consortium. He served as journal editor of Agricultural and Resource Economics Review (from 2007-2010) and served as member of editorial board of several academic journals. He was a former Chair of the National Association of Agricultural Economics Administrators (NAAEA) section of the AAEA. He earned a Ph.D. in in applied and agricultural economics from Texas A&M University.
